Welcome back to September’s Monday Mojo series. As you may know, the format for Monday Mojo has changed from featuring new pins and prompts weekly to sharing one collection for entire month, giving everyone plenty of time to make the most of the ideas and inspiration offered here.
This month, I’ve been excited to feature my friends Karen Siegel Fitting and Janet Carr with their super fabulous digital layouts. I’d love for you to visit their blogs and leave them some love, as they really are two very inspirational ladies.
And for this month’s final project, I’ve put together my interpretation of a combination of most of the prompts to create this card:
I have to say, this is the most technique-driven card I’ve ever made, and it was so much fun to put together! I loosely followed the layout sketch in choosing and putting the elements together. I used stencils and Dylusions sprays to create the background (the circular stencils stand in for the circles in the sketch), and also sprayed each of the layers of cardstock with the same colors. I drew inspiration from the embellishment prompt in choosing to use sequins as embellishments. Originally, I created a hand-drawn sentiment that said “Good Day Sunshine” as a nod to the song lyric/title prompt, but in my opinion, it looked a bit too homemade, so in the end I ditched it for a stamped sentiment.
I’d love to see your creations from this month as well, particularly any that were inspired by September’s prompts. Just link me up in the comments, and you’ll be entered to win this fun prize pack of Double Dot Gems from BoBunny:
Be sure to check back next week for a whole new round of Pinspiration for October!
